The Henley Festival is a glamorous five-day music, art and food extravaganza. Held in July every year on the banks of the River Thames, it started in 1982 as a classical music concert. It has since developed to include all types of music, from local, up-and-coming artists to Grammy-winning global pop superstars. It is also renowned as a great place to discover new works of art, with some of the country’s top galleries exhibiting work from their artists. Add to that an enviable gastronomic line-up, including the likes of Michel Roux Jr, Atul Kochhar and Jason Atherton and you have all the ingredients for a truly amazing event.
During our first visit in 2012, we were blown away by the whole thing, and in particular, the stunning riverside setting. There was a sophistication and elegance to proceedings, all except the festival’s identity, which had a village fête look to it. We set about addressing this, creating an identity that would position the Henley Festival as one of the UK’s premier events on the summer social calendar. We worked on all elements of the visual identity, and continue to work with them, most recently on a complete redesign of their website. We are also working on updating the festival signage and printed material for this year’s event.
